“What’s good everybody! I know its been awhile since i’ve updated you guys on what i’ve been up to but I’ve been very busy preparing many exciting things and today I’m proud to announce our new collective / label BORN CTZN pronounced ‘Born Citizen’! For now, my brothers YEAR OF THE OX and I are the first two artists on the label and excited to bring you new music and videos very soon! This past weekend in Seattle, Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone promoted their new label H1GHR MUSIC at the Upstream Music Festival! Here’s more info on the label from a post on Jay Park’s Instagram:

“Hip-hop and R&B artists Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone are the visionary co-founders behind H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS, a brand new, global hip-hop label based in Seoul.

On May 12, 2017, a source close to Jay Park revealed, “Within this month, Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone will officially launch H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS. The label has signed both Korean and American artists based in Seattle whom Jay Park and Cha Cha have personally vetted.” H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS marks the joining of talented artists from Korea and various countries worldwide to produce a greater synergy.
The diverse music label will include Korean artists Sik-K, pH-1, GroovyRoom, and Woogie. Yultron, Avatar Darko, Raz Simone, Jarv Dee, and Phe R.E.D.S. are among H1GHR’s international line-up.”

I’m really excited for the music from both of these labels! Simon D has been a little too quiet lately so really glad to see he’ll be on ‘Hyung’ with Dumbfoundead. I’m not familiar with any of the Seattle artists on H1GHR MUSIC but I really enjoy all of the Korean artists involved so I’m expecting great things! If there’s music you love from any of these artists, please suggest some tracks in the comments.
