Throwback Thursday x ICYMI: Kisum ‘Musik’ Album, Code Kunst ‘ 9¾ Documentary’ and Sik-K drops ‘Nowhere’ featuring Loco

This is a combination #tbt and ‘In Case You Missed It’ post to update you on some music happenings from the past couple weeks. I feel like this blog is just as much for me as it is for my readers. I’ve been meaning to start watching the Code Kunst documentary for a month now…

Kisum released her mini album ‘Musik’ at the end of June. Here’s some background on the album in her own words (excerpt from 1theK):

This album defines “what I’ve been wanting to say”. The lyrics may not be all that epic, but they aren’t cliché like some of the popular songs. They are simply stories that I, Kissum, wanted to share. They represent every day of the 24-year-old Cho Hye Ryung.

For some, the songs may become the freedom to quench the thirst in our busy everyday lives. They may be the loneliness inside our hearts that cannot be filled. They may be the feelings of love and appreciation for our beloved ones. They may be the messages we secretly wish to pass on to the people we like. The songs are our everyday emotions, stories of our common, average selves. As I was working on the album, I tried to focus on recording only what I really mean to say, and on making sure the songs are relateable so my fans can listen to them and feel like the tracks are very personal.

It’s not the greatest, but the most honest album. I am very fond of the result, so I hope a lot of people can enjoy.

The single ‘2 Beer‘ is included on the album. Check out the music video for the first track ‘No Jam’ below!

Code Kunst, the HIGHGRND producer (Parachute) also associated with Legit Goons crew, is featured in a weekly short documentary series on the HIGHGRND Youtube Channel called ‘9 3/4’. The series of short clips shows Code Kunst working at HIGHGRND with different artists. Check out the first two featuring current SMTM5 contestants CJamm and Bewhy (there are English subs included):

Last but not least, Sik-K recently released a new song ‘Nowhere’ featuring Loco. The track is produced by Woogie, who also produced Sik-K’s last mini album ‘Young Hot Yellow’, ‘Think‘ and ‘너도 (You Too)‘.
